Simplify your social media life, with Mary Baird-Wilcock

Do you struggle with social media? Maybe you spend more time there then you want, or you've noticed that after you've been scrolling for a while, you start to feel really yucky.  Maybe you run a business and feel like you need to be actively producing content for every platform, and you are exhausted and out of ideas. Perhaps it all just feels so shallow to you and you'd rather not log in at all.

In this week's episode I share a story about how me setting a boundary for myself with Facebook resulted in an unexpected and delightful connection with someone. I was so scared to do it, but the result was nothing like I had expected.

My guest this week, Mary Baird-Wilcock of the Simplifiers Podcast, did an experiment with her social media business channels in July. She stopped using them, all but Instagram. What she discovered from this experiment, was that in being really intentional with how and where she spent her time on social media, she had deeper, more personal connections, both on and off-line (and spoiler: her business did not tank).

In this episode we discuss ways to simplify your interactions on social media, no matter which platform you use, how to make decisions about how much of your life you want to share in your business account, and how to approach social media in order to have deeper and more authentic connections with your audience.
